The Laundry Bird

A tangle of clothes hangers;

A nest for the laundry bird.

Mussed whorls of dirty linen;

Makeshift burrows for the child.

Soft, mushroom pelts of lint mice

Piled up on the dryer.

Beneath the table; litterfall -

Silverfish among breadcrumbs.

I am not skilled at keeping house.
